As most of you know, our family went to Boston a few weeks ago for a wedding. Cory's sister was married, and it was an unforgettable trip for MANY reasons. One of the main reasons that stay's in my mind, one worth posting about is Renae (cory's sisters new husband) is Peruvian. He's quite a gentleman. He's very kind and considerate of people, very well liked. He doesn't say much but his heart is full of words and you can feel it. We had the Amazing opportunity of meeting his parents. They only speak spanish so communication was very difficult. Actually there wasn't really any. We spent a lot of time with them over the week, staying in the same hotel, riding in the same vehicle many times, eating meals together, attending family events etc. During this time, I saw something I don't see very often..... A couple that had been married for many years, and yet acted as though they just fell in love!!!!!! Their was patience, respect, kindness, constant physical contact, and it filled my heart with great joy!!!! Everywhere they went, he opened her door, waited for her and helped her up and down stairs, in and out of cars etc. Why do we rarely see this in America? And why is it so difficult to attain this even in our own marriages? It was the perfect picture of what marriage is meant to be like, weather it's been 2 months or 50 years. I'll never forget how Mr. Gordova took a step back when Mrs. Gordova walked out in her dress after getting her hair done for the wedding......
The little 5 ft man in the white hat with a mustache....taking a step back, closed his eyes, waved his hands out at hips length, and said in a quiet voice.....OH...LA..BONITA..I was speechless as I couldn't keep the tears from filling my eyes.
At that moment, even if he didn't say a word, the room was filled with the love he felt for his wife, and it was breathtaking.

NOT your typical conversation..but I love it.
Do you remember that show called, " Kids say the darndest things? " well in our house, that's just typical conversation. Just a quick recap of one of my favorite conversations, with the best 10 year old in the WHOLE world.
Picture this....
Driving gabbi home from mutual, and maddy is of coarse bored during the 6 minute commute. She wants to read her book in the back, but the light is glaring in my rear view mirror, which we all know is not a good idea.
Mom says....."Maddy, turn of the light, I can't see.
Maddy......" Why does GABBI get her light on?"
Mom...... "gabbi turn your light off, I can't see."
Maddy......" No wait.....Dangit, I could have read using that light instead."
Gabbi...." Haha, that's what you get for tattling."
Maddy...." can I use your cell phone light mom?"
Mom....." No, it wears down the battery."
Maddy....." Gabbi, can I use your cell phone light?"
Gabbi....."No....
Maddy....." Why?"
Gabbi....." Cause it wears the battery down."
Maddy, definately aggitated, because life is soooo unfair, throws her head down, and say's....GOSH, why don't you guys EVER let me use your cell phone lights?"
Moms just thinking to herself..." Seriously, is this for real?"
Maddy, pops back up and in the sweetest tone of voice say's..." I really love you guys."
as Gabbi and I laugh, Maddy replies..."Whats so funny? Why are you laughing at me?"
Gabbi...... " That was so random, Where did that come from? You must have felt bad because you weren't being nice!"
Maddy......" No, I just layed down and thought to myself, if we were to get in an accident right now, I wouldn't want those to be my last words to you.
Gabbi......." Oh my gosh Maddy, that is the sweetest thing ever, I LOVE YOU TOO.
Mom....sat silent with a teary eye and thought...How blessed I am to be me, and have THESE in my life.
I love our conversations, and kids REALLY DO say the darndest things.

I love music.
I got a call from an old friend yesterday around 3pm inviting me to a local concert. IN BURBANK... After being stuck in the house so much lately, my response was. yes yes yes. I didn't care, I could have gone to dinner and petsmart, I was just happy to get out. But I can't lie when I say.... I thought...what kind of a concert happens in Burbank?
To make a long story short, it was a house concert, and there is a local friend of a friend who decided one day that we don't have enough culture, and music etc. in the tri cities, and I definately agree. So she up and started contacting musicians to see if they would come here and let us experience more music. Aparently house concerts are pretty common, and I LOVED it. It was small, and quaint, very personable, and the music was great. I would love to have more of this type of experience so I'm helping spread the word.... Her website is http://www.passionistapresents.com/ The artist was Sarah Sample, she's a great entertainer, and loves small town concerts, so she is willing to assist Marilyn in getting other artists here as well.
You can check her out on Marilyn's website, or maybe youtube to hear a sample of her music.
Enjoy and spread the word.

Dairy Queen
After I dropped Gabbi off at swim practice tonight, I was wanting to get the girls a treat. I pulled into Dairy Queen, and as I turned and asked lily what she wanted, she very promptly, and clearly stated..." I want dwirl dipped in Terry!" Translation..." Swirl dipped in cherry."
I couldn't help but laugh cause it was so dang cute, then she chuckled and proceeds to look out the window and say.... "ya, I dust lub it." Translation "I just love it."
Is this a bad sign? That my barely 3 year old know's exactly what she wants at dairy queen, and exactly how to say it. (with a little motherly translation that is)

Do all moms do this?

Why do I always blame myself when things happen to my children? Doesn't matter what it is, I'm great with the beat up stick. Lily was jumping on the tramp about a week and a half ago, and broke her leg.
She was just having fun with dad and maddy, which lead to a big purple cast, alot of tears, and severe guilt from mom...ugh.
If only I had warned them to not jump so high, or maybe if I was out there I would have seen it coming and prevented it, or maybe I didn't give her enough calcium as a toddler, etc, etc.
I understand that things just happen and I can't control it all, so why do I think these crazy things?
Doesn't matter what it is, if my kids mis behave it's because I didn't teach them properly, or even when they are so obedient, and I should feel intense gratitude in my heart, all I can think is.....do my kids fear me? Am I too rough on them? Maybe Thats why they're being so good?
All these crazy thought going through my head, when I really deserve to look at my children in amazement with complete gratitude that they are just experiencing life, because when it comes right down to it..."Men are, that they might have joy". We live in such a magical world, and our bodies and minds are incredible, I want to look at lilys leg and just see the perfection in how her body is truly healing itself, hour by hour, minute by minute.
Gosh....Life is wonderful, I love every minute of it, and what a joy it is to watch my 3 perfect little human beings grow before my eyes...I Know that before I know it, lily's leg will have healed itself, and she will be running around playing again, and this will be a distant memory, but until then it's so hard to watch.

Picture this!!!!
Just thought I'd share my yummy thoughts with you today since I don't do it often enough.
As I was getting kids ready for school today I thought... man I haven't had a soft boiled egg in a long time, sure sounds yummy. So as I head off with gabbi in the car,and my yummy warm slightly runny eggs, I see this young kid out running. I see him quite often, he is definately a very dedicated runner. I'm admiring his dedication in the early morning hours, out in the cold.... as I'm driving by, enjoying the yellowy yoke, thinking..."mmmm...this is better than I remember it being."
I come up closer to this young runner, and I notice he has his hand up to his nose, and mouth, and has black gloves on... I take a closer look, simply because the positioning is odd. I'm wondering if he's having a hard time breathing or something with the way he is leaning forward!
as I approach upon him, I realize, its definately no breathing issue, infact, he has such amazing lung power that he is capable of blowing this emmense amount of long, stringy, yellowy, snot in the direction of my car.
So just in case your wondering...my soft boiled egg craving has been cured for a very long time. In addition to my admiration for the young early morning runners lung power. It's not a very busy road, is it possible to wait till there are no cars passing, before you share THAT talent with the public????? Oh I think so.

Dignity? What's that?
So just a quickie, I almost took a picture to show you, but thought that might be a bit much, but here goes the story.
You know how when you get married, your all PROPER and DIGNIFIED? Well, then your married a few years, and you have CHILDREN.
Ya, that all goes out the window, especially when your children decide to use your front yard as a bathroom facility.
Lily was outside the other day, and vanished for a few minutes, I decide I better go see whats going on. As I come around the front calling her name, she yells back...
Lily: "Right Here Mommy" comes around the corner with her pants and panties down to her ankles....
Mommy: "What are you doing?"
Lily: "My go poo poo.."
Mommy: "Ok, hurry, let's go inside" "I'll help you"
Lily: "No...My go Poo poo....Right there!
I turn and look to where she's pointing, and much to my dismay.....sure enough, there it is...on the grass.
She looks up at me with a big proud grin and as I quickly grab her and take her inside feeling complete and utter embarrasement, I think to myself....
Could be worse..... reflecting back on when maddy did it in the MALL in CHICAGO, at CHRISTMAS time. Or when Gabbi threwup at church in the lady's purse sitting next to me.
So needless to say, after 3 children. DIGNITY HAS GONE DOWN THE TOILET....and I just live to survive those embarrasing moments!!!!!!!!

GLEEEEEEEE!
So I don't watch t.v. very often, I mean seriously who has time for that?
And I'm way to cheap to pay for DVR, so I'm a little behind the times when it comes to popular television shows.
Well, while staying at a girlfriends house a few weeks ago, I was introduced to that show everyone talks about called Glee.
Can you say THE BEST SHOW EVERRRRR? I'ts so, lame, dorky, meant for teeny boppers, and some people call it inapropriate.... I LOVE it.
I'm totally addicted, and can't wait till the kids go to bed so I can watch it!
Ofcoarse I can't watch it when their awake, simply because they're not so young anymore that everything goes way over their head.....oh no, infact, ummmm, they don't miss anything.
Those were the day's.....when you could watch smut t.v. anytime of day or night with your girlfriends, and your kids just laughed at it because you did, not knowing how lame or inapropriate it REALLY was.
Speaking of kids, I think they're asleep now, so I gotta run, GLEEEEEE is waiting for me.
